Terrazzo flooring is an age-old flooring solution invented by Venetian marble workers in the 15th century. It is a combination of marble chips and a binding matrix, traditionally made from clay, poured on site, and then ground to expose a beautiful mosaic of colors. Today, we have modernized this timeless concept by incorporating various colored aggregates such as crushed marble chips from all over the world, crushed glass, mirrors, Onyx, and Mother of Pearl. This is combined with technologically advanced matrices such as specialty epoxy resins, polymer-modified Portland cement, or special hydraulic cements, which have expanded the design possibilities and improved the flooring’s overall performance.
